The month started with Snake #2, followed by Chainbuster 9-hour #1 and last weekend included a nice long spin around Bull Mountain! I feel like we haven't had a whole lot of ride time since the final CB race in October so I'm loving all this mountain time!
Snake #2 went okay . . . my time was considerably slower than the first (9 min) so I was a little bummed about that. My legs and lungs felt good but something happened mentally during the 2nd half of the last 17 b/c I just couldn't pull it together and focus. I would get off the bike then try to get on and ride only to have to dismount . . . it was an endless cycle. The Misfit SS was perfect as always!
The next week was Chainbuster Racing race #1 at Heritage. Matt & I won this series last year in the co-ed duo but this year we're going solo. Since last years final race, I figured we'd do the 6-hour but they decided to do a 6/9 hour series so I was indecisive, as usual, and eventually jumped in for the 9-hour and got PAID. Woo hoo!!!

I felt pretty good most of the day and my goal was pretty much to just keep moving, oh and 8 laps. I had a couple of "WTH am I doing here" moments but I had a great time. I decided to race the new Niner Air9 and I greatly appreciated the 1x9 for the 9-hour race! While I was grabbing something to eat after lap 6, another girl in my class came through. Bruce announced that I was only 30 seconds ahead of her and I watched her roll by ~ ugh! So I took off and eventually passed her, rolled into the pit area, went Mr. Peepers on an apple, and took off for lap #8 expecting Julia to come in. Matt told me I had a lap up on her but I didn't believe it so I went out for 8. Stephen & Ruthie came down from TN too . . . a wise man once said that Ruthie & I make a podium look good! ;)

My pre-race nutrition probably needs a little work but hopefully my new team doesn't frown upon this sort of thing!

Last weekend was BeAuTiFuL and RT invited us to ride Bull with some old friends and new. Dave is much better at this blogging thing and is way more observant than me so I'll say "ditto"! :)
Up until Wednesday morning, Matt & I had planned on heading to the mountains, camping and spending a few days relaxing and riding. Indecisiveness set in again and after a few messages and texts, I'm in! I don't own a cross bike and I haven't been on a cross course so needless to say I was a little concerned about barriers/mounting/dismounting/run-ups . . . but at 50 miles, it appears to be a gravel grinder with some road & cross elements thrown in for "FUN"! I'm a little bummed I didn't register in time for a sweet Twin Six tee or even the backup tee but that's the price you pay for indecision! Did I mention the weather should be lovely and the race will be run out of Montaluce Winery!
I have to be productive on Sunday . . . tax returns!!! I'm trying to talk myself into a quick recovery spin on the road bike but I haven't been on the road since September so we'll see.
I hope you all (well, my one follower!) have a great weekend!!!
