Our sweet girls, Harper Jane and Grace Caroline, will be here Tuesday, October 23, 2012!!!
Just 3 short weeks away . . . I'm excited, nervous, and anxious! Other than just getting bigger, not much has been going on the past few months. We've been seeing both my regular doctor and the perinatologist once a month but since we hit our 28 week milestone, we alternating between the two and go to a doctor once a week. Dr. H says that 34 weeks is our BIG milestone since twins born after 34 weeks usually do just fine . . . only 4 more days and no signs of labor yet!
If they decide to stay until that date, I'll be 36w3d which I think average for twins and they are now growing about a pound each every 2 weeks. It looks like they will be about 6 or 6.5 lbs, give or take. Baby B hit a growth spurt last month!
23w3d 1lb7oz & 1lb9oz
27w3d 2lb11oz & 2lb12oz
29w3d 3lb8oz & 3lb9oz
31w3d 3lb14oz & 4lb1oz
33w3d 4lb11oz & 5lb1oz
I've read a few books, we went to a couple of classes and did the hospital tour at Northside Forsyth so hopefully that will get us started. I fully expect that these girls will be perfect . . . you know, sleep through the night, eat well, and won't be too fussy. And if not, many people before us have gone in blind and raised perfectly healthy and happy children so we should be fine! That's what I keep telling myself anyway.
Matt & I did manage to get away to the beach for a few days in July and even got to see my brother and his family while we were down in Orange Beach. It was a much needed break from work . . . we relaxed, ate well and got in a round of mini-golf!
At around 26 weeks we went for to a local 3d/4d ultrasound place but the girls were all over the place and most of the pictures aren't very clear. We have the video of the session but it makes me dizzy all over again to watch it . . . maybe later! Here are a few of the better pictures.
Matt finished Ironman Wisconsin on September 9th and I was so excited that I was able to make the trip. It was a super long drive to Madison (about 14 hours) but I think I did pretty well considering I was 30 weeks pregnant!
The following week was my work baby shower where we got the most comfortable glider ever! We also got some super cute outfits, blankets, etc.
One of my long-time BFFs, Shana, and my stepmom, Cyndee, threw me a baby shower that Saturday. It was so great seeing family and friends that I don't see enough! We got a lot of great stuff for the girls too . . . so much fun!
We finished up the nursery and I love it. I ordered some polka dot wall decals and the girls' names from an etsy shop and it is so cute. I was inspired by Carter's pink dot sheets . . . a mix of light & dark pink, light green and dark brown. I ordered the rug from overstock.com and while I was worried about choosing a rug based on a little computer picture, I think it's perfect for the room!
I still have a few things to pick up so hopefully we'll get that taken care of this weekend. I also need to pack the hospital bags . . . every list is different so if you have any must-haves or definitely not needed items, leave me a comment! :)
