My alarm went off at the oh-so-early 4:45am so I could get my morning coffee fix before heading to the airport. Everything went smoothly from Buford, GA to Denver, CO! We picked up the Hyundai Santa Fe (nice little ride . . . not a lot of pick up but it's quiet, roomy & turns on a dime) and hit the road for Rocky Mountain National Park.
RMNP is one of the most scenic drives in the country. It took us about 3 hours to drive through it with a few photo stops. We saw some elk chatting it up which was cool. We didn't bring the super zoom camera so you have to squint to see them!
The views were beautiful and we even saw a moose in Winter Park!!!
Once we left RMNP we still had a 2-3 hour drive to the condo in Breckenridge which took us through Grand Lake, Gramby, Fraser, Winter Park, Empire, Fresco & finally our destination! We are staying in a nice one BR condo right off main street that is convenient to Breckenridge Brew Pub (Matt's main requirement for accommodations as they have $2 pint happy hour every day!).
It was chilly this morning (Sunday), 29 degrees, but should warm up to mid-60's at some point. Now if I can just get on mountain time and catch my breath . . .
