Happy Anniversary ~ Cathedral Rock & Devil's Bridge!

After Sunday's rainy day we decided to spend our last day hiking. First up was the hike up to Cathedral Rock . . . we scampered, we scurried, we used 3-points of contact to safely ascend and descend this not so easy "trail". It was absolutely beautiful!

We stopped at West Side Deli before heading to Devil's Bridge and had what is probably the best turkey sandwich I've ever eaten. The chalkboard menu is a little overwhelming at first glance but they break it down for you . . . Step 1: Choose toppings - Montezuma (pepper jack cheese, green chilies, chipotle mayo and tortilla strips), Step 2: Choose Meat - Turkey, Step 3: Choose Bread - Organic Honey Wheat. It was sooooo good . . . I should have taken a picture! :)

The road up to the Devil's Bridge trail head is a pretty rugged fire road and a 4x4, high clearance vehicle is recommended so we left the rental Jeep Patriot in the parking lot and decided to "hike" the road to the trail head. It was about 25 minutes each way which wasn't too bad but it was chilly so we jogged some of it. The trail up to Devil's Bridge was pretty sloppy b/c of the recent rain/snow but another amazing view when we reached the top.

"Walking on the arch is not recommended due to its inherently unstable nature".
Hmmmm, now you tell me!  P.S. cartwheels are okay! :)

Our last stop was the Airport Mesa that has incredible sunset views. Unfortunately, it was overcast all day so we didn't get an official sunset but the views were still awesome!

After a great dinner at Oak Creek Brewery & Grill, we headed back to the condo. We had so much fun and I'm so glad we made the trip to Sedona.
